About Us
The Development Literacy Institute (DLI) is a transformative Pan-African institution established in 2018 that operates at the intersection of academia and civil society. We offer innovative solutions in the rule of law, economic development and technology to drive sustainable development across the continent. We aim to empower individuals and institutions through education, research, and strategic initiatives that align with the African Union’s Agenda 2063 and the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.
Our work spans four key thematic areas:

- Information and Communications Technology for Development (ICT4D)
- Bridging the Digital Divide: DLI provides digital literacy training and equitable access to technology for inclusive participation in the digital economy.

- Legal Frameworks for Economic Development
- Policy and Advisory: DLI provides advisory services on international, regional and national development policy frameworks.
- Legal-Institutional Reform: We offer guidance on legal frameworks and institutions (LFIs) for sustainable development.
- Development Function of Key Stakeholders: We advise on the role of government, CSOs and the private sector in development functions.
- Development Principles: DLI focuses on public participation, planning law, management principles and access to information.
- Financing and Project Management: We guide financing strategies, program design and proposal preparation for sustainable development initiatives.
